Misspellings
Actually I have added the above misspellings to the keywords for the above posts so even the above misspellings will return the correct results. However, I can only make such corrections as I discover what misspellings people are using. If in doubt, consult with the Internet Movie Database for correct spelling.
Using Wildcards & Quotes
If you want to search for an exact phrase enclose it in quotes:
Example:
You can use the ” + ” and ” – ” operators to include or exclude search terms. For example if you want a listing of the newest 2009 Action movies you can search for +”2009 Release” +Action. Or you can exclude Action movies from the 2009 listing with +”2009 Release” -Action. Or perhaps you wanted a list of the newest and funiest comedies ~ you could search for +”2009 Release” +comedy -drama which would exclude 2009 comedies that are also listed as dramas. Or if you would like a list of the 2009 movies but would like to exclude those with low quality torrents you could search for +”2009 Release” -”Low Quality Torrent”
Problem titles using the word “NOT”
Some visitors are having problems when searching for He’s Just Not That Into You. This title creates two problems for my search engine:
1) When copying the title from IMDB or other sources the apostrophe ” ’ ” does not get converted correctly to the typed version ” ‘ “. So be sure you do not copy and paste titles with apostrophes.
2) The word “not” is a search engine operator. So if you type in the title he’s just not that into you __you’re asking the search engine to find all documents with either of the two words he’s just and to exclude all documents with any of the three words that into you.
Solutions:
The simplest solution is to exclude the word “not” from your search query.
Another solution is to include a ” + ” sign in front of the word “+not ” telling the search engine to include the word not as a word in the title.
You can make your search more accurate by enclosing the search in quotes ~ but if you do you must have typed the apostrophe and included the plus ” + ” sign before the word ” +not “
“he’s just +not that into you”
